Job Overview

Project Overview:

We are currently engaged in a significant project that involves the development of a multi-family community, featuring multiple apartment structures and a community center.

Position Summary:

As the Underground Utility Foreman, you will play a crucial role in directing the installation of both wet and dry underground utilities, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. Your leadership will guide a team of pipelayers and excavators, ensuring that all tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and within the established timelines. You will also be responsible for maintaining quality standards, reviewing project blueprints, and complying with relevant regulations and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation and configuration of underground utilities, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
  • Manage and schedule crew activities effectively.
  • Develop a three-week work schedule for the team.
  • Interpret and analyze project plans and specifications.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in underground utility construction, with a proven track record in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong understanding of construction regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Experience in managing work crews.
  • Excellent communication skills for relaying project updates and addressing potential issues with team members and management.
  • Proficient in underground utility installation, trenching, grading, and shoring techniques.
  • Familiarity with equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar project management software.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of performing physical labor and handling strenuous tasks.
  • Able to navigate project sites for extended periods.
  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling tools and equipment.
  • Occasional need to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must be alert to sounds and able to respond quickly.
  • Capable of working safely on uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions.
