Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our teachers in creating safe, joyful learning environments that foster inclusivity and high expectations for all students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build Positive Relationships: Establish strong relationships with students based on respect, enthusiasm, achievement, courage, hard work, and self-determination through structured social-emotional learning.
  • Lead Instructional Blocks: Lead whole group instructional blocks with the support of a lead teacher as assigned.
  • Learn and Grow: Learn best practices through practice and observation with a VCP teacher and/or grade level.
  • Operational Duties: Monitor student activities and participate in operational duties such as recess, lunch, bus duty, etc. as assigned.
  • Student Progress: Observe, monitor, and record student progress.
  • Grade-Level Activities: Participate in grade-level activities and school-wide functions.
  • Substitute Teaching: Serve as a go-to substitute teacher on campus.
  • Continuous Improvement: Work to continuously improve effectiveness in all instructional practices, using the school's teacher performance rubric as a guide.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Staff Training: Participate in annual staff training.
