The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide holistic nursing care to clients in the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF). This role requires developing therapeutic relationships with clients, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and communicating effectively with colleagues and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist healthcare professionals with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, and vital signs within the scope of practice.
- Implement provider orders, administer medication, and document medication administration.
- Submit regular reports to providers as requested.
- Utilize knowledge of medications in the treatment process and educate clients and residential staff.
- Adapt to changing situations and work assignments, providing services to both behavioral health and autism residential treatment areas.
- Consult with PRTF staff to ensure quality client care.
- Collect and document client data, reactions, and changes in conditions.
- Utilize therapeutic verbal and non-verbal techniques with clients as needed.
- Coordinate client transfers to outside healthcare providers or medical facilities.
- Participate in training orientation of new employees.
- Maintain proper use and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
- Valid Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
- Cultural competency, interpersonal communication, professional and ethical conduct, collaboration and teamwork, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience working with children and adolescents, with previous experience in behavioral health or direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
