Position Overview
We are seeking a Commodity Manager to join our team. This role involves collaborating closely with Procurement Directors to align with BakeMark's overarching corporate procurement strategy for manufacturing and distribution materials, services, and processes related to commodities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee specific commodity product categories and manage preferred and exclusive supplier programs distributed nationally within the bakery sector.
- Develop, propose, and execute strategic plans utilizing data-driven models and critical thinking.
- Implement Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for procurement across North America, ensuring alignment with forecasted demand for manufacturing and distribution product categories.
- Drive sustainable and profitable sales growth through effective commodity management.
- Support supplier approval processes and contribute to additional corporate initiatives.
- Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong business acumen, a customer-centric approach, effective process management skills, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Prior experience with the specified commodities is essential.
Desired Experience
The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in sourcing the following commodities for manufacturing and distribution:
- Flour
- Sugar
- Shortening/Fats
- Chocolate/Cocoa
- Eggs
- Starches
- Sweeteners
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution; or two to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
