Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Applicants must be eligible for a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop significant units, devices, or equipment.
  • Conduct various tests or experiments.
  • Analyze outcomes and modify equipment to enhance performance based on established guidelines and specifications.
  • Create designs for equipment with non-critical performance requirements, such as engine components and specialized circuitry.
  • Evaluate technical data to address design challenges; select from multiple design layouts; calculate design data; and prepare detailed specifications, parts lists, and procedures.
  • Review and assess drawings or equipment to ensure design adequacy; assist in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance.
  • Determine testing requirements, equipment modifications, and testing procedures.
  • Perform tests utilizing a variety of instruments.
  • Analyze and interpret test results, preparing comprehensive reports on findings and recommendations.
  • Manage complex assignments that involve planning and executing projects of limited scope or segments of larger projects, adapting plans and techniques as necessary, and coordinating with related personnel to resolve issues.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience with a degree or formal training, or ten (10) years of practical experience with a high school diploma or GED, including design and modification of engineering documents and drawings.

Educational Background:

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, Mathematics, or Science; formal electronics training from a technical school or military electronics program; or completion of a four-year electronics apprenticeship; or a high school diploma or GED.
