Unit Description: Our H81 Internal Medicine Telemetry Unit specializes in caring for adult patients facing intricate multi-system health challenges, including conditions such as congestive heart failure and sepsis, alongside those requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. The unit features a dedicated observation area for patients needing heightened care.

Work Schedule: This position involves a Day/Night Rotation, with shifts from 7pm-7:30am and 7am-7:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, document, and communicate patient information and observations.
  • Execute care plans as directed by a Registered Nurse (RN) and assist in modifying care plans as necessary.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a healthcare provider, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions.
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests.
  • Provide education to patients and their families.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
  • Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience in patient care.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform full body motion to lift and move patients, along with manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination.
  • Extensive standing and walking are required.
  • Vision and hearing must be corrected to normal ranges.
  • Medium Work - Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as required.
