Job Overview

This role involves the construction, assembly, and maintenance of both custom-built and prefabricated forms and structures, adhering to precise specifications. Responsibilities include creating concrete footings, slabs, walls, columns, bridge decks, and bent caps. Candidates should possess familiarity with machinery used for bridge finishing, rebar tying, and other related tasks within the heavy civil construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construct and install built-in-place forms or prefabricated forms on-site according to detailed blueprints.
  • Review ongoing work to ensure compliance with specifications and project plans.
  • Safeguard all assigned resources, ensuring they are maintained and utilized efficiently.
  • Identify additional work or changes in conditions and communicate these to the project manager or engineer.
  • Adhere to safety standards and promote a culture of safety on all job sites, utilizing appropriate tools for each task.
  • Assist in surveying and field layout, supporting estimators and engineers in various project pursuits.
  • Maintain high standards for quality control and comply with company safety policies in all work aspects.

Required Knowledge:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, prepare project layouts, and perform material estimates while ensuring compliance with codes and specifications.
  • Experience in pile driving, concrete forming, steel or concrete beam erection, and bridge deck forming.
  • Understanding of bridge superstructures, substructures, and construction methods for major bridge structures.
  • Precision in working within exact standards of accuracy, capable of distinguishing differences in size, shape, and forms.
  • Proficient in operating trade tools and equipment safely and efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in bridge carpentry within heavy construction.
  • Strong ability to interpret project specifications and drawings.
  • Knowledge of pile driving, form erection, steel tying, concrete pouring, and erosion control maintenance.
  • Familiarity with survey controls and bridge geometry.
  • Competency in reading civil construction plans.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Position Details:

This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule. Work hours typically span Monday through Friday, with potential for local or out-of-town assignments requiring overnight stays.
