Job Summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber, Inc. (FTCH) is seeking a highly skilled Professional Surveyor to join our team in Dayton, OH. As a key member of our surveying team, you will be responsible for handling a variety of job responsibilities in the field and office, including construction staking, engineering design surveys, boundary surveys, data collection, GPS, GIS mapping, mobile or terrestrial LiDAR collection, field investigation, field review, and coordination of multiple projects and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surveying and Data Collection: Adjust and operate surveying instruments on various private and public projects, including construction staking and boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and as-built surveys.
  • Project Coordination: Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans, and process survey data to create boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and as-built surveys with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Project Management: Manage projects with strict adherence to budgets and deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as a team member.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, and sketches, and communicate clearly in person, in writing, and over the phone.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: Bachelor's degree in Surveying or Engineering, or applicable experience. Professional Surveyor license or ability to obtain licensure strongly desired.
  • Experience and Skills: 8+ years of related surveying experience, with expertise in MicroStation Select Series and Open Roads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and project management.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, climb, and maneuver outdoors to conduct field surveys, lift and carry survey equipment, and operate company motor vehicle to travel to work sites.
