Compensation Range: $20.85 - $21.69 per hour

Overview:

The Manufacturing Equipment Operator plays a vital role within the production team. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: overseeing operational speeds and loads, and managing different machinery that performs tasks such as filling, marking, labeling, banding, tying, packing, or wrapping containers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate designated machinery and perform associated tasks, including preventative maintenance, machine changeovers, and adjustments for optimal operational efficiency. Assist fellow operators as needed.
  • Initiate machine startup and monitor operations to identify any malfunctions.
  • Conduct quality checks following best practices.
  • Detect and report any defective materials.
  • Maintain vigilance in the work area for potential hazards, such as loose wires, parts, scattered tools, and other safety concerns.
  • Address accumulating rework during downtime.
  • Accurately record data as required, making necessary process adjustments based on findings.
  • Ensure that quality checks and procedures are thoroughly completed.
  • Responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of all equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Complete necessary documentation to uphold packaging specifications.
  • Verify specifications such as cap torque, stream pressure, container fill temperature, fill weights, and codes.
  • Identify causes of downtime and document them appropriately.
  • Report any food safety and quality issues to management to initiate corrective actions.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in machine operations within a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Ability to understand units of measure and accurately record information.
  • Willingness to work any assigned shift.
  • Capability to read, comprehend, and follow written work instructions.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Proficient in tracking and recording production data as needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to push and/or pull up to 90 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods on concrete surfaces.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, and/or stoop as necessary throughout the shift.
Work Schedule:

8-hour shifts from Monday to Saturday with opportunities for overtime.
