As a member of our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice, you will be responsible for providing excellent client service to multi-state companies with state and local tax issues, including compliance, advisory services, planning, technology, and controversies. Your responsibilities will include reviewing information presented on state sales and use tax returns, supporting multi-state companies with state and local tax controversies, researching and drafting technical memoranda regarding SALT questions, supervising and mentoring staff members, and assisting with business development, management, and delivery of SALT services. To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of five years of recent experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university, and a licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM, MST (master's in taxation) or a certified member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (CMI) designation for non-CPA eligible candidates. You will also need to have the ability to develop business and foster client relationships, capability and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment, and excellent writing, communication, and tax research skills.
