Job Summary

The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Nutrition Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality food service experience for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the production and dissemination of patient menus in compliance with established guidelines and regulations.
  • Prepare and distribute food to patients and staff on a daily basis, adhering to patient preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Ensure the safe and sanitary production of staff/visitor meals and catering needs.
  • Represent the department in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Dietitian and Nutrition Service Manager to develop and implement effective food service strategies.
  • Utilize patient electronic medical records to ensure accurate and timely food service delivery.
  • Assist with fiscal management and staff education and training initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of work experience in the food service field.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Leadership and adaptability skills, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
  • Professional appearance and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and prepare food in compliance with diet orders.
  • Experience in food safety and handling cash accurately.
