Position Overview

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for the safe transport of neonates and pediatric patients from various healthcare facilities. This role encompasses the management of mechanical ventilation, arterial catheterization, endotracheal intubation, and other essential procedures within the respiratory care domain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a collaborative work environment by utilizing effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ensure adherence to patient care standards to optimize health outcomes.
  • Maintain a secure and supportive atmosphere during patient transport, ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.
  • Administer respiratory therapies in accordance with age-appropriate care standards and departmental protocols.
  • Complete necessary documentation for patient records and billing processes, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Provide educational support to allied health professionals.
  • Deliver age-appropriate care as per established guidelines for specific patient demographics.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions, staff meetings, and team discussions.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, with a focus on critical care (neonatal/pediatric experience preferred).
  • Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the state of Georgia.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Completion of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification or Pediatric ITLS.
  • Certification in Critical Care Transport (CCT) is required.
