Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in Carpentersville, IL. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing leading-edge audio hearing protection and wearable products distributed globally. Your expertise will be instrumental in all aspects of the product development cycle, including architecture, simulation, design, design verification, compliance, and introduction into manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Design, prototype, and implement embedded software components for Sensear earplug and earmuff products.
  • Develop and maintain software components, including embedded software, functional test software, and Windows software.
  • Implement Soundcheck test sequences and associated Windows DLLs and LabVIEW applications.
  • Perform initial production release of all software components.
  • Research and develop new technologies for inclusion in Sensear products.
  • Implement and fine-tune new algorithms developed in-house.
  • Supervise staff/students on short-term projects.
  • Participate in Sensear Sound Laboratory experiments and provide technical support to the sales and production teams.
Requirements
  • At least 7 years of experience in software design and development of embedded systems.
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills and experience with firmware debugging technologies.
  • Experience with wired communication protocols, electronics, and hardware knowledge.
  • A solid understanding of wireless technologies, audio signal processing, and DSP.
  • Proven ability in embedded software engineering, including real-time embedded issues, threading, optimization, memory management, and interrupt handling.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements
