Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Surgical Assistant to join our team at Grosse Pointe Hospital. The successful candidate will assist the surgeon in the performance of approved surgical procedures and work under the direct supervision of the operating surgeon.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgeon in the operating room during surgical procedures
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room and equipment
  • Monitor and maintain patient safety and well-being
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of a Surgical Tech First Assistant or Certified Surgical Assistant Program required
  • Must receive certification as a Certified Surgical Assistant Certification (CSA) through the NCCSA, or Certified Surgical First Assistant Certification (CSFA) through the NBSTSA within two years of completing first assistant course required
  • 2 years of relevant experience; Surgical assisting experience required
