Job Title: Compounding Pharmacy Technician

At AmeriMed Infusion Pharmacy, we are seeking a highly skilled Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective preparation of medications for our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, measure and compound medications, maintain patient records, and perform duties deemed acceptable by the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Assist with the orientation and training of pharmacy personnel.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and program or double-check IV pump settings for accuracy prior to delivery.
  • Prepare prescriptions for filling, including checking compounding records, gathering necessary pharmaceuticals, staging prescriptions and products for the pharmacist to check, and compounding prescriptions under direct supervision.
  • Clean and calibrate compounding equipment per manufacturer's guidelines and policy and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of USP 797 guidelines and communicate with patients about supply and deliveries of medications.
  • Coordinate continuation or discontinuation of services, process refill prescriptions, and document in patients' records.
  • Utilize administrative and clinical knowledge to assist pharmacists in providing medication and other healthcare products to patients.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • State pharmacy technician licensure for Ohio.
  • Obtain national certification within 12 months of employment.
  • At least six months of sterile IV compounding pharmacy technician experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills, math skills, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Self-directed with excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
