Mammography Technologist Job Description

Job Summary

This position ensures compliance with safety standards, prepares patients for exams, and conducts quality assurance on imaging equipment. The technologist also promotes professional development and supports organizational goals by providing compassionate care and mentoring less experienced staff.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic mammography procedures to detect abnormalities and assist in patient treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and prepare patients for exams.
  • Conduct quality assurance on imaging equipment and promote professional development.
  • Provide compassionate care and mentor less experienced staff.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or approved program of Mammography Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
  • Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
  • Registered Mammography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-M).

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is approximately $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on location and experience.
