Maintenance Manager Job Description
At QUICK USA, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and leading the maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the maintenance department to ensure proper staffing levels and adequate preparation to support manufacturing processes.
- Oversee maintenance tasks, including monthly, quarterly, and annual PM actions, installation and testing of new equipment, and root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of chronic equipment issues.
- Develop and implement a maintenance work order system to be utilized on all shifts.
- Audit and review spare parts and tools quarterly to ensure proper inventory levels.
- Participate in Kaizen events and cost reduction implementation.
- Develop an annual maintenance Hoshin Plan and promote department Hoshin activities through PDCA.
- Ensure processes are capable of achieving daily QCD expectations.
- Take an active leading role in maintaining a safe work environment and responding to safety incidents.
- Manage employee on-going skill development and promote a positive work environment.
- Provide regular performance feedback to maintenance team members.
- Prepare maintenance annual budget and capital expenditures and monitor to ensure remain within budget.
- Complete required reports and ensure compliance to applicable laws and regulations.
- Support ISO activities as required.
- Ensure 5S daily activity is maintained on all maintenance shifts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent training plus experience.
- Minimum 8 years manufacturing experience, 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proficient working knowledge of PLC, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electronics, basic Fabrication including machining and welding.
- Working knowledge of project planning.
- Knowledge of work order systems and inventory control processes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of maintaining a safe workplace and ISO 14001 a plus.
- Minimum 3 years plastic manufacturing preferred.
Skills:
- Interview and select maintenance team members.
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians in a lean manufacturing automotive environment.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and processes.
- Project planning including coordinating, scheduling and prioritizing projects and monitor to deadlines.
- Communicate effectively verbally and written.
- Consult, Coach, train and develop maintenance technicians.
- Effectively utilize MS products to plan, analyze and report / communicate to team and staff level managers.
- Effectively use shop tools and equipment to support equipment uptime.
- Implement modifications and install new equipment.
Abilities:
- Able to work in a high-stress environment.
- Capable of multitasking and adjusting to changing priorities.
- Keeps others informed on requests in a timely fashion.
- Uses sound business judgement in making recommendations and decisions.
- Able to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
- Ability to travel as necessary to obtain job proficiency and new equipment training.
- Flexible and can adjust to multiple requests with changing assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work all shifts including weekends (when required).
