Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking a skilled Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist to join our team at our office located in Westerville and Columbus, OH.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of specific tasks and procedures associated with Ultrasonography. As a trained health care professional, the Ultrasound Technologist will work closely and personably with other Technologists, Physicians, Nursing staff, and Office staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Image patients according to protocols and parameters set forth by department policy or by a Radiologist.
- Responsible for explaining procedures to the patients and answering questions as needed.
- Archive patient exams on PACS system.
- Troubleshoot minor problems that arise with the US unit and the PACS system. Seek assistance from appropriate service personnel when necessary.
- Stay current on new protocols, software changes, policies and procedures, and quality assurance requirements.
- Maintain a clean and workable working environment at all times. Assure ample stock of linen, processor supplies and professional supplies.
- Inform patients of delays or equipment repairs that cause excess waiting for the patient. Assist in transporting patients to restroom, patient's car, or another department whenever necessary.
- Assist Receptionists and Physicians in finding appropriate time slots for routine patients. Act as a backup for team members who are out of the office, both planned and unplanned.
- Participate in continuing education applicable to the field and/or self-improvement. Attend and participate in staff meetings and other miscellaneous mandatory meetings.
- Assist in training new technologists hired by the center.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- ARDMS registered
- RVT certification (preferred)
- Completion of course in ultrasound technology and registry by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
- Current certification as required by law
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to sufficiently input area for imaging
- Knowledge of equipment, testing, safety, body mechanics, and patient movement
- Knowledge of department computer and phone systems
- Skill in properly positioning patients to provide quality imaging
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
- Ability to assist patients on and off exam tables
- Ability to work on a team and display a positive attitude
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Excellent relationship building skills
