Job Summary

Arista Networks is a leader in data-driven, client-to-cloud networking for large data center, campus, and routing environments. We're seeking a skilled Solidworks Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

About the Role

This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and is responsible for the mechanical design of next-generation data center solutions. You will work with a cross-functional team to ensure that the end solution meets our customer's needs and is brought to market quickly.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement selected designs using Creo 3D CAD and provide necessary drawings, critical to function dimensions, and 3D files for prototyping and manufacturing.
- Structure bill of materials (BOM), release, and change products using product lifecycle management tools (Agile).
- Provide 3D models for thermal simulations and PCB design drawings and 3D files to the ECAD design team.
- Work with electrical engineers and PCB layout to address placement concerns and collaborate with CMs and suppliers to address DFM concerns.
- Conduct lab testing to check prototypes against 3D MCAD designs and debug design issues.

Requirements

- BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering + 7 years' experience.
- Relevant experience in mechanical design of computer/network equipment designed to operate in data centers is preferred.
- Experience with thermal simulation and air flow testing is a plus.
- Experience designing sheet metal parts using soft and hard tooling guidelines and plastic part design for both cosmetic and non-cosmetic uses.
- Fluency in English.
