Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at NCH. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating computed tomography equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for CT scans, instructing them on examination procedures and positioning them according to protocol.
  • Explain examination procedures to patients, responding to their questions and utilizing AIDET concepts in customer interactions.
  • Obtain and provide clinical information and patient history to radiologists for all patient procedures.
  • Administer radiographic contrast media and enteric contrast media as required, adhering to infection control/universal precautions guidelines.
  • Operate CT scanners to provide radiologists with optimum quality images, communicating preliminary interpretations to appropriate individuals as applicable.
  • Schedule patients and work at the reception station as needed.
  • Maintain order and sanitary conditions of the work environment, checking equipment and ensuring exam rooms are clean and well-stocked.
Requirements

To be successful as a CT Technologist at NCH, you will need:

  • Graduation from an accredited school in Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT certification in CT and current registration.
  • Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency license.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the correct use of body mechanics.
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and hospital staff.
  • Analytical ability to determine proper patient positioning and scanning parameters.
