About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CT Technologist to join our team at NCH. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating computerized tomography (CT) scanning equipment to provide high-quality images for radiologists and physicians to diagnose patients' injuries and/or study body systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares patients for procedures, instructs patients on examination procedures, and positions patients according to protocol.
  • Explains examination procedures to patients, responds to patient questions, and utilizes AIDET concepts in all customer interactions.
  • Obtains and provides clinical information and patient history to Radiologists for all patient procedures.
  • Administers radiographic contrast media and enteric contrast media as required, following infection control/universal precautions guidelines.
  • Operates CT scanners to provide Radiologists with optimum quality images, communicates Radiologists' preliminary interpretations to appropriate individuals as applicable.
  • Schedules patients and works at the reception station when needed.
  • Retrieves medications that are not controlled substances.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment, checks equipment, and ensures exam rooms are clean and stocked.
  • Supervises students assigned to the work area, assists in training, and evaluates performance.
  • Participates in Continuing Education classes, seminars, and reads professional journals to maintain professional growth.
  • Adheres to departmental and hospital safety standards, attends mandatory safety inservice education programs, and performs on-call duties as scheduled.
  • Ensures compliance with all NCH standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school in Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT certification in CT and current ARRT registration.
  • Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency license.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the correct use of body mechanics.
  • Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients, physicians, and hospital staff.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule and fulfill on-call responsibilities.
