Mammography Technologist Job Description

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our radiology team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography and breast ultrasound imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Screen patients before exams for any precautions or contraindications, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
  • Explain and prepare patients for mammography and ultrasound imaging procedures, ensuring they understand the process and positioning.
  • Perform routine and advanced mammography and ultrasound imaging procedures on designated breast areas, providing patient support and comfort throughout the process.
  • Adjust scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and other associates and peers.
  • Follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to safety regulations to protect patients, coworkers, and yourself.
  • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting good safety habits for patients and coworkers.
  • Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Clean and disinfect equipment after each use, ensuring compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with training new associates, providing resource and technical expertise as applicable.
