Production Control Specialist

Job Summary:

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Production Control Specialist to develop and manage a comprehensive production control process to support high volume manufacturing and emerging products and technology.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory management, or project management, with a strong understanding of material resource planning (MRP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the flow of materials to ensure on-time production and coordinate with various departments to achieve operational efficiency and meet customer demands.
  • Develop and implement a Plan for Every Part (PFEP) to document part numbers, quantities, suppliers, storage locations, part attributes, and replenishment plans.
  • Establish a visual management process for the shop floor to align with the PFEP and update production spreadsheets to clearly communicate the status of each job/work order and its can-build/factory clear-to-build status.
  • Communicate internally any known or potential issues that could affect production or shipments and coordinate the schedule, plan, and initial staging of material/kits to all vital areas of production and test.
  • Develop and standardize area supermarket replenishment plans to prevent overstocking and shortages and control the proper access and consumption of material in manufacturing.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy by managing cycle count programs and monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with Production to ensure work completes on time to schedule.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory management, or project management
  • Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently on various assignments at once
  • Knowledge of material resource planning (MRP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES) specifically Oracle and Proplanner
  • Strong communication skills both within the team and with external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as high attention-to-detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps influencing internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem solving, and communicating recommendations
  • 3+ years of domain experience in a manufacturing environment supporting material flow
