Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Apex Systems is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth transition of products from design to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and guide electromechanical suppliers for ramp-up and scalability.
  • Support supplier quality engineering for scalability.
  • Develop and implement best practices on manufacturing tolerances using GD&T.
  • Launch tooling with accelerated schedules and assess project risk for the electromechanical supplier base.
  • Review external production processes, identify risks, and mitigate them.
  • Qualify production processes based on dimensional data, control plans, PFMEAs.
  • Drive internal and external FMEA reviews.
  • Solve technical problems across a broad set of manufacturing commodities.
  • Manage electromechanical supplier quality problems when necessary; drive containment and root cause activities.
  • Propose design changes that will enhance product manufacturability and testability.
  • Evaluate and approve product electrical Engineering Changes Orders (ECOs).
  • Evaluate production, supplier, and field failures for root cause analysis and resolution.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or process vertical at the desired scale, along with a technical degree.
  • Experience with SolidWorks-CAD.
  • Utilizing a PLM tool (Agile) & Visio experience or similar diagramming and process applications.
  • Experience working with and knowledge of core concepts/industry use of PCBAs and electromechanical components.
  • Demonstrate experience managing product lifecycle & partnering with third-party manufacturers for establishing and identifying best practices, quality control (root cause analysis), scalability, and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Experience with bill of materials (BOM) - engineering change orders (ECO).
  • Ability to travel domestically & internationally.

  • Hands-on engineering experience.
  • Quality tooling (fault analysis, root cause analysis).
