Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is one of four Lockheed Martin business areas. MFC is a recognized designer, developer and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries. MFC develops, manufactures and supports advanced products for military customers that include the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, NASA and dozens of foreign allies.

MFC also offers a wide range of products and services for the global civil nuclear power industry and the military's green power initiatives.

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer lead to steer the NextGen Seeker design for the JASSM program. The mechanical lead will ensure hardware development through required reviews to meet program milestones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Seeker IPT to complete the seeker gimbal design.
  • Lead a mechanical engineering team using Model-Based Design (MBD) to support the maturation of JASSM's NextGen seeker.
  • Proficiency with Creo/CATIA V5, MBD, and Windchill is required.
  • Tolerance analysis, Line of Sight (LOS) budget management, gimbal balance, control, ICD and mass properties management experience is desired.
  • Travel to suppliers may be required on an as needed basis.

Candidates filling this position will need to be a US citizen and will need a clearance at the level specified in the job requirements or will need the ability to get a clearance if not specified.

In addition to meeting security clearance requirements, candidates may need to be approved to work Special Access Program (SAP) prior to start of employment.
