Job Opportunity: Associate Medical Technologist

This is a contract job opportunity with potential for permanent placement. The position is located in Indianapolis, IN, and requires a 2nd shift schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, 3pm-11:30pm.

Job Summary

The main function of an Associate Medical Technologist is to perform routine medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This role may work under the supervision of a medical technologist and is responsible for setting up, adjusting, maintaining, and cleaning medical laboratory equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze test results and experiments to ensure conformity to specifications using special mechanical and electrical devices.
  • Record test data to issue reports that use charts, graphs, and narratives.
  • Consult with a pathologist to determine a final diagnosis when abnormal cells are found.
  • Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids, such as blood and urine, using a microscope or automatic analyzer to detect abnormalities or diseases.
Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a physical science is required. Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technician is also acceptable. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
