Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Students' Needs
    • Evaluate students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills to develop individualized therapy plans.
  • Provide Direct Therapy Services
    • Provide direct therapy services to students based on their needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with Educational Staff
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
  • Document Progress
    • Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions, progress, and outcomes.
  • Participate in IEP Meetings
    • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide input on students' needs and progress.
  • Stay Current with Best Practices
    • Stay updated on best practices and developments in occupational therapy.
Qualifications
  • Education and Certification
    • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy.
    • Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Maryland.
    • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred.
  • Skills and Experience
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and educational staff.
    • Experience in a school setting preferred but not required.
