We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Research Nurse to join our team at Calyx. As a Clinical Research Nurse, you will play a critical role in the conduct of clinical trials, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate clinical research trials from initiation to close-out, ensuring timely completion and accuracy of data.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing tasks and deadlines to meet project objectives.
- Participate in the delivery of training for new protocols, creating training materials and presenting to nursing staff.
- Recruit and schedule study participants, creating and updating recruitment-related documents as needed.
- Conduct informed consent processes, ensuring participants understand the trial and its risks.
- Perform clinical procedures, including vital sign measurement, phlebotomy, and administration of investigational medicinal products.
- Assist with study procedures, such as imaging and lumbar punctures, and collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
- Ensure diagnostic specimens are packaged and shipped according to IATA guidelines.
- Interview participants for medical history, social history, and concomitant medication review.
- Provide direct instruction and support to participants, emphasizing safety and comfort.
- Deliver compassionate care and support to participants and their families.
- Bachelor's Degree in Registered Nursing or equivalent experience.
- Active Connecticut state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Excellent knowledge of medical conditions, medical terminology, and research techniques.
- Understanding of scientific writing and Good Clinical Practices (GCP).
- Experience with electronic communication methods and computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Well-developed clinical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to make effective decisions under pressure and manage competing demands.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or medical research.
- Experience working with patients affected by CNS disorders or oncology.
- Familiarity with imaging modalities, such as PET and SPECT.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Proficiency in data management tools and electronic data capture systems.
