Job Summary

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Grounds Manager to oversee the daily activities of our campus grounds and landscaping services staff. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing and continuously reviewing performance standards, goals, and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and oversee the daily activities of all campus grounds and landscaping services staff.
  • Manage external vendors and ensure quality service delivery.
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems and certification in pesticide application are a plus.
  • Manage seasonal plantings and pesticide applications, as well as the budget for the entire Grounds Program.
  • Present a professional personal appearance that reflects the University image and brand.
  • Schedule and perform routine inspections of all campus grounds and landscape to ensure quality.
  • Assure service staff uniforms, personal protective equipment, and other safety gear are used properly.
  • Manage the hiring and performance management, and professional development process for frontline hourly team.
  • Execute and update yearly the campus snow removal plan, manage maintenance of snow removal and equipment.
  • Ensure all grounds and facilities vehicles and equipment are maintained to a safe and serviceable condition and workshop facilities are kept clean and tidy.
Requirements
  • Artificial turf field management experience is required.
  • Preferred 3 years of Grounds leadership experience.
  • Knowledge with hardscapes, machinery, and fencing is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of large mowers and grounds equipment maintenance as well as hand-held equipment including trimmers, lawn-edgers, seeders, and more.
  • Experience working with and maintaining sports fields both natural grass and synthetic is preferred.
  • Computer literacy as well as excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
