To conduct comprehensive assessments and provide educational services to individuals with language and speech impairments, including those with specific learning disabilities related to speech and language. The ideal candidate will provide special education services across various special education disability areas.
Key Responsibilities- Identify pupils with communicative disorders and provide speech, language, and hearing services to meet their individual needs.
- Utilize assessment procedures, techniques, and standard tests to diagnose and convey pertinent information to cooperating personnel.
- Develop short- and long-term therapeutic goals in collaboration with the IEP team.
- Record and analyze responses related to improving communication skills and redefine objectives as needed.
- Provide information and assistance to parents and participate in multi-disciplinary staff conferences.
- Establish and follow professional guidelines for identification, referral, diagnosis, caseload selection, termination, and follow-up procedures.
- Develop and maintain an efficient record-keeping and evaluation system.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Monrovia Unified School District.
- Valid California Preliminary or Clear Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential in Language, Speech, and Hearing.
- Mental ability to teach the skills and knowledge required to interpret and implement policies, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to see and read printed matter with or without vision aids.
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone.
- Manual dexterity to carry out the functions of the position.
- Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly.
- Ability to bend, reach, and walk.
Employment is contingent upon fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice.
