Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Washington University in St. Louis. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and implementing research studies, collecting and managing data, and providing direct patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the guidance of the principal investigator to meet the research objectives of the project.
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients, and document and collect data as required.
  • Identify, screen, and enroll study subjects, and ensure that lab and data are obtained according to established protocol.
  • Prepare and submit event reports in adherence with study procedures, budget, and established guidelines.
  • Assist research associates from sponsoring organizations, providing study explanations and reports as necessary.
  • Collect basic health information as required by protocol.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a normal office environment with occasional exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Protective devices will be required. The position involves direct patient care and requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and stoop. Occasional lifting of 25 pounds or less may be required.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical research experience (1 year).
  • Clinical research coordination, management, methods, operations, techniques, critical thinking, database management, effective written communication, electronic health records, interpersonal relationships, nursing, oral communications, patient recruitment, spreadsheet software, statistical analysis software, and team collaboration skills.
Benefits

Washington University in St. Louis offers a competitive salary range of $56,000 to $96,100 per year, depending on qualifications and performance. The university also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time. Competitive health insurance packages with priority appointments and lower copays/coinsurance are also available. A forgivable home loan of up to $12,500 for closing costs and a down payment for homes in eligible neighborhoods is also offered. Eligible employees can also take advantage of a defined contribution (403(b)) Retirement Savings Plan, which combines employee contributions and university contributions starting at 7%.
