Salary:
As a crucial member of our team at Construction Masters Services and Summit Flagging, the Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the operation of various construction and maintenance machinery, including but not limited to backhoes, front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, and grade tractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare construction sites for various activities including building, demolition, and excavation.
  • Utilize excavating machinery to create holes and trenches as required.
  • Receive and manage construction materials, ensuring proper unloading and delivery to the work site.
  • Identify and troubleshoot faults in machinery, implementing necessary repairs.
  • Conduct minor repairs on equipment when needed.
  • Follow safety regulations diligently and report any hazards to the supervisor.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Engage in physical tasks such as kneeling, crawling, jumping, and lifting weights exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Inspect the work environment prior to commencing tasks to guarantee safety.
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues on site.
  • Undertake laborer duties when equipment operation is not required.
  • Execute additional related tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain adherence to all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and its capabilities.
  • Strong mechanical skills are essential.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret gauges, dials, and other indicators, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Capability to coordinate actions with other workers on a busy construction site.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to coordinate hand and foot movements to guide equipment in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work in challenging conditions, including extreme weather, enclosed spaces, and heights up to 80 feet.
  • Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules, including late nights, overtime, and weekend work as needed.
