Summary:

The Nursing Staff Scheduler is tasked with organizing nursing personnel schedules to comply with facility and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care; C.N.A. experience preferred.
Job Functions:
  • Creates and posts work schedules at least two weeks in advance.
  • Contacts substitute personnel and adjusts schedules as necessary.
  • Keeps an updated list of employee contact information for call-ins.
  • Coordinates time-off requests with the Director of Nursing.
  • Alerts the Director of Nursing regarding staffing shortages.
  • Maintains records of employees who miss shifts and generates reports.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to arrange contract labor when needed.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Effective communication skills with residents, their families, and all organizational levels.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in operating a Personal Computer.
  • Understanding of overtime regulations.
