The Noon Duty Aide is responsible for supporting staff and students during lunchtime by monitoring student activities, setting up the cafeteria, and assisting children during each school lunch session.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist children in entering the cafeteria during lunch in an orderly fashion.
  • Receive children from classroom teachers for the lunch period.
  • Ensure each child receives utensils, milk, juice, and other supplies.
  • Encourage children to empty their trays when finished.
  • Assist with lining up children for recess or the next activity at the appointed time.
  • Remain on site 30 minutes prior to the first lunch session and 30 minutes after the last session to maintain the cleanliness and order of the cafeteria.
  • Assist as needed or instructed by the Administrator.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with teachers, students, and administrators.

Work Environment:

The physical demands of this job require the ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and fingers, bend, stoop, lift objects of at least 10 pounds, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Visual ability requires mono and color vision, close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Terms of Employment:

This is a part-time position with no benefits provided. The work year is 10 months.
