Job Overview

SUMMARY:

Operate machinery in accordance with the established standards and specifications for each production task.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Efficiently manage multiple presses equipped with various cavity molds.
  • Interpret and implement process documentation to ensure accurate mold operation.
  • Notify the supervisor of any discrepancies found in the process documentation.
  • Address and report any deviations or modifications in work instructions.
  • Conduct safety inspections of the work area and equipment, reporting any hazards to the Supervisor.
  • Adhere to all required personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
  • Prepare the work area prior to machine startup to confirm availability of necessary materials.
  • Utilize the specified weight of rubber for each production cycle.
  • Complete production documentation, including tags and travel tickets, as necessary.
  • Aim for optimal efficiency and productivity in all tasks.
  • Perform quality audits on parts during operation.
  • Adjust processes as needed to enhance product quality.
  • Seek assistance when unable to resolve issues independently, with a focus on achieving zero defects.
  • Report any damaged molds to the Supervisor without delay.
  • Collaborate with the Tugger Operator as required.
  • Maintain and adhere to 5S standards and practices.
  • Follow established standard operating procedures.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

PRESS OPERATOR DUTIES:

  • Operate presses and molds with a focus on efficiency and productivity.
  • Contribute effectively as a member of the production team.
  • Engage in team discussions to identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to various roles throughout the workday.
  • Assume team responsibilities such as Relief Operator, Auditor, Troubleshooter, Job Setup, Scheduler, and Trainer.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate vacation and holiday schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in machine operation is preferred.
  • A solid work history is essential.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to comprehend and execute work instructions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing for approximately 70% of the work shift.
  • Walking for about 30% of the work shift.
  • Ability to lift rubber tubs weighing up to 20 pounds consistently throughout the shift.
  • Good hand-eye coordination is necessary.

Proficiencies:

  • Machine setups for production runs.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in packaging processes.
  • Excellent communication abilities.

Machines & Technologies Utilized:

  • Punch Press.
  • Press Brake.

Compensation:

$19.66 per hour
