Culinary Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Sunrise Senior Living. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to our residents in a timely and safe manner. You will work closely with our Dining Services Coordinator to ensure that all food production meets our high standards.

• Prepare and serve meals in accordance with established recipes and menus
• Ensure high standards for food taste and quality are upheld at all times
• Utilize production sheets to accurately record food production quantities and cooking, holding, and cooling temperatures
• Prepare required dietary modifications as ordered
• Stock, rotate, date, and store product according to food safety standards and regulations
• Maintain clean and organized kitchen, storage, and work areas
• Complete assigned cleaning duties and ensure accuracy of daily and weekly cleaning logs
• Maintain accurate equipment logs and report any issues promptly
• Comply with OSHA/British Columbia Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation requirements and Risk Management programs and policies

• One (1) year job-related experience in food preparation in a restaurant, hotel, or other similar environment
• High School Diploma/GED
• CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate
• ServSafe Manager Certificate
• Local Health Department Food Handler Card
