Job Overview

MaxHealth is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant/Front Office Float to provide exceptional patient care across our Hillsborough and Pinellas County clinics. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will oversee patient preparation, assist physicians with exams, and manage front desk tasks.

This rewarding role offers a competitive salary of $20.00 per hour, depending on experience, along with comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, a 401k plan, life insurance, long-term disability, paid holidays, and PTO (paid time off).


To be considered for this position, candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

The Medical Assistant will provide coverage to clinics in Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Plant City, St. Pete, Clearwater, Dunedin, and Largo, with mileage reimbursed.

A typical day in this role involves ensuring that patients receive focused and empathetic care at all times. You will greet patients warmly, triage them upon arrival, prepare examination rooms, obtain their histories, vital signs, and weight/height measurements as needed, and perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and procedures.

A Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant

  • Preparing patients for examinations and procedures
  • Obtaining patient histories, vital signs, and weight/height measurements
  • Assisting physicians with exams and treatments
  • Performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing documents

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • The ability to work on your feet for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems
