Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to combine trauma-focused therapeutic intervention with holistic casework, helping young people heal from trauma while creating a safe and supportive environment for families. As a Trauma Systems Therapist, you will develop and implement treatment plans to strengthen relationships between children and their caregivers, promoting safety, attachment, and stability.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with families to provide assessment, treatment planning, and case management to prevent foster care and promote well-being.
  • Learn and apply the Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) treatment model through training, coaching, and case consultation.
  • Collaborate with the TST treatment team and relevant systems to ensure buy-in and cooperation throughout treatment.
  • Conduct regular home and office visits, and other field visits as needed.
  • Provide clinically focused case management, including advocacy and referral.
  • Assess safety and risk, and implement crisis management plans and safety plans as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic diversity.
  • Document all case activity using the systems of record - N.Y.S. Connections and the N.Y.C. PROMIS.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in case management, counseling, and advocacy services.
  • Some knowledge of the child welfare system preferred.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule.
  • Bi-lingual ability preferred.
