Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist II to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. As a key member of our medical team, you will provide high-quality surgical care to patients, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room and sterile field for surgical procedures, ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly and safely.
  • Assist healthcare professionals in receiving, labeling, and verifying sterile solutions and medications to be administered during surgery.
  • Verify patient identity, correct surgical site, and correct surgical procedure.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
Requirements
  • Hold and maintain a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
  • Documented designation of Grandfathered status as a Surgical Technologist, or completion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technologists in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Rotating tour schedule
  • NBST Certification
  • Proficiency in English
