We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week, with a work schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The successful candidate will be eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus, paid in one lump sum, after a 1-year commitment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical histories from patients and families, adhering to practice requirements.
  • Accurately take and record vital signs in a timely manner.
  • Respond to emergencies appropriately and provide patient care that meets psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care as directed by physicians and/or registered nurses.
  • Communicate effectively with the patient care team, patients, and families, reflecting professional expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with RNs and Directors on day-to-day patient order reviews.
  • Perform various clinical tasks, including lab specimen collection, EKGs, and medication administration, within the scope of certification.
  • Maintain accurate medication and immunization records, document patient responses to treatments and clinical actions, and provide verbal and written information about medications as needed.
  • Participate in quality measures for meaningful use and other governing entities.
Requirements
  • Certified Medical Assistant Certification Required.
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
