Job Summary

Battelle is seeking a highly skilled Radio Frequency Design Engineer to join our Electronic Warfare group within the National Security Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of complex RF/microwave systems for Communications and Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, analyze, and integrate RF/microwave systems, subsystems, and components
  • Develop and implement advanced signal processing techniques for EW applications
  • Collaborate with antenna engineers to design and develop state-of-the-art phased array antennas
  • Lead technical teams and provide guidance on complex technical projects
  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and presentations to clients and stakeholders
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or related field + 10 years of experience
  • Master's degree in EE or related field + 8 years of experience
  • PhD in EE or related field + 5 years of experience
  • Expertise in microwave/RF system design, FPGA development, and embedded system development
  • Experience with microwave test equipment, simulation tools, and antenna design
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with 3GPP 5GNR and O-RAN system design, integration, and test
  • Experience with VITA-49 system design, integration, and test
  • Familiarity with mobile cellular network equipment, deployment, and industry practices
