Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

The position of Maintenance Technician at Satellite Shelters, Inc. | Satellite Industries, Inc. reports to the Facilities Manager. The primary responsibility is to perform minor repairs to the facility, including small tool repair, minor fabrication, coordinating supplies and replacement parts, and assisting in the subassembly operation.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocol.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance Checks on equipment and facility.
• Maintain required records and inventory of facility supplies, including filters, bulbs, etc.
• Repair various small tools, such as rivet guns, drills, etc.
• Perform equipment lubrication and building repair projects.
• Plan and select materials needed to complete a job.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area and order required maintenance supplies.
• Build various subassemblies, such as tanks, stands, etc.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Requirements and Competencies

• Obtain and maintain Lift truck certification (Standup, Sit-down, Scissor lift) and follow all PPE and Safety requirements in facility.
• Must be able to climb and operate at heights.
• Work on small tool repairs and perform minor wiring repairs and projects.
• Must have lock out tag out training and be able to use multi-meters, voltmeter, working with 120-volt power.
• Assist with facility-related projects as required and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
• Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds.
• Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including lift trucks, saws, drills, and small hand tools.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• Participate on teams as required.
