The Piping Specialist is tasked with the assembly and installation of piping networks and components designed for high-pressure water, gas, and steam applications utilizing various hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as lathes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a foundational understanding of fabrication shop operations.
  • Exhibit knowledge of construction tools and procedures.
  • Ensure quality execution of tasks.
  • Engage in facility construction activities.
  • Conduct general maintenance of facilities.
  • Perform cleaning duties at the shop and/or job sites.
  • Install and maintain piping systems, valves, pumps, and motors.
  • Utilize hand and power tools effectively to accomplish tasks.
  • Operate equipment such as skid steers, forklifts, and telehandlers.
  • Adhere to the company's safety-first policy.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Skilled in cutting, bending, and threading pipes, as well as connecting piping to appropriate fittings.
  • Experienced in installing valves, thermostats, and gauges that control flow and pressure, and in testing piping systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Prior experience in labor-intensive roles, with proficiency in various tools and equipment is preferred.

Educational Background:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Two years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Two years of experience in pipefitting.

Physical Demands:

The physical requirements and work environment described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods without assistance. The incumbent must wear a respirator when necessary. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate industrial machinery are required. This role also necessitates a full range of body motion, including handling and lifting. The incumbent must be able to repeatedly lift and/or move up to 65 pounds unassisted. Visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing must be adequate to perform all required tasks safely.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is typically loud. Work is primarily conducted outdoors and may occur at client facilities or job sites, often in adverse weather conditions. The incumbent is exposed to moving electricity, mechanical parts, vehicles, equipment, and hazardous materials. This position may require extended work hours and frequent weekend shifts.
