Job Description

At Oracle, we're committed to ensuring the security and integrity of our cloud services. We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Security Engineer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting penetration testing of our cloud services, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing strategies to mitigate them. They will also be expected to collaborate with our security team to develop and implement comprehensive security methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct penetration testing of Oracle's Cloud Services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and Corporate Internet-facing and internal systems.
  • Document technical issues identified during security assessments and author formal reports.
  • Follow up on the implementation of corrective actions from assessments.
  • Research security threats and attack vectors; develop novel tooling and techniques to enhance the team's platform and capabilities.
  • Evaluate technical architectures for security risk; provide expert technical advice to support secure design and recommend security controls.
  • Maintain expert proficiency in emerging information security trends.
  • Support incident management teams; respond to Major/Critical security events, investigate intrusions, and oversee root cause analysis.
  • Develop new methods, playbooks, scripts, applications, and tools; train and mentor staff.

Requirements:

  • US Candidates: It will be an advantage if you hold or are prepared to gain a US Security Clearance: Oracle's commercial background investigation, plus NACLC and be willing to obtain MBI or SSBI as needed.
  • Previous hands-on experience in automated and manual penetration testing (infrastructure and web app/service).
  • Prior experience with systems development, systems administration, or network administration, 3 years minimum preferred.
  • Professional certification: minimum OSCP, OSCE/OSWE or equivalent preferred.
  • Scripting/programming experience (BASH, PowerShell, Python, C, Assembler) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Information Security standards and access controls such as ISO27001/2 and PCI DSS.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented, able to handle concurrent assignments.
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Self-starter and self-sufficient, doesn't need to be micro-managed.
  • Excellent team player, willing to share knowledge and skills with peers.
