About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership and oversight for all aspects of our financial portfolio. This includes budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, contract management, and purchasing.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management, preferably with experience in public finance, as well as excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing effective financial strategies to ensure long-term sustainability and growth.
  • Serving as a liaison between the school committee, superintendent, and other stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to finance and accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Superintendent to develop and implement the annual budget, ensuring alignment with district goals and objectives.
  2. Provide expert financial analysis and recommendations to inform decision-making at all levels of the organization.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reports.
  4. Serve as the primary point of contact for grant management, including application submission, reporting, and fiscal oversight.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as vendors, contractors, and government agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of executive-level experience in financial management, preferably in a public school setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as experience with financial software and systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex financial data, as well as write clear and concise reports.
