Job Title: HVAC Department Head

The Service Manager at Armstrong Air & Heating, Inc. oversees the management, administration, growth, and profitability of the Service Department. This includes responsibility for the applicable sections of the corporate strategic plan.

This position requires initiative, decisiveness, tact, integrity, judgment, leadership skills, and technical knowledge to achieve departmental and corporate goals. Job-related contact occurs with all demographic groups, primarily with Armstrong Air & Heating, Inc. employees and departmental customers.

Responsibilities include:
  • Planning, organizing, controlling, and coordinating all aspects of the Service Department.
  • Training designated employees in proper servicing procedures, practices, and promoting Armstrong's customer satisfaction guarantee philosophy.
  • Scheduling jobs according to expected complexity against technician experience and ability.
  • Negotiating credit when necessary and working with the Accountant and Director of Service on collection of problem accounts.
  • Working with other Department Managers, the Owner-Team, and General Manager in support of corporate goals, mission, and vision.

Requirements:
  • Ten or more years of combined practical and academic experience in HVACR sub-fields, including analysis and solution provision.
  • Ability to negotiate orders with suppliers and ensure prompt receipt of material at best price.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills for working with personnel, customers, and suppliers.
  • A good understanding of marketing and sales techniques for HVAC systems, equipment, and services.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on location and qualifications.
