Job Title: Principal Engineer Manufacturing

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer Manufacturing to join our team in Northridge, California. As a key member of our Manufacturing Engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes that meet quality, efficiency, and affordability standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, including process development, inspection, and quality control.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop new methods, applications, and processes to support current and future manufacturing needs.
  • Provide ROI justification for process improvements and specify, identify, and procure new manufacturing equipment for production readiness.
  • Develop and optimize process parameters, develop/revising process documentation and manufacturing work instructions, and work with vendors to support assembly transitions.
  • Assist the production floor in optimizing process monitoring for process yields, cost, and process stability and capability, and recommend and implement quality improvements based on metrics and data.
  • Create, validate, and maintain automatic equipment programs, assist with the training of new personnel, and generate process-specific training materials and process procedures.
  • Support factory maintenance personnel with the troubleshooting and repair of process equipment, and interface with equipment vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Recommending product design improvements required to produce advanced microelectronics products, documenting state-of-the-art process capabilities and guidelines for product designers, and participating in design producibility reviews for new products.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree + 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's and 3 years' experience.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies, MS Office software applications, IPC standards, Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) Software, and Material Review Board (MRB) activity.
  • Able to obtain Secret Clearance.
  • Active Secret clearance, proficient with electro-mechanical assemblies, and experience in the Aerospace or Defense Industries are preferred.
