Job Title: Mental Health Security Specialist

At Stars Behavioral Health Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Security Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, visitors, and staff.

Job Overview:

The Mental Health Security Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service through maintaining a safe environment for all individuals within our facility. This includes direct and indirect physical and verbal interactions with clients, modeling appropriate behaviors, and monitoring daily client activities. You will also be responsible for screening incoming clients and visitors for contraband, inventorying client property, and monitoring surveillance equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide a high level of customer service through maintaining a safe environment for all clients, visitors, and staff.
  • Screen incoming clients and visitors for contraband and inventory client property.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment and maintain vigilance over the general milieu within the facility.
  • Control access to the center and respond to fires and/or emergencies.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years' experience in a relevant field.
  • Valid California Driver's License and clear DMV printout preferred.
  • Valid CPR/BLS certification.
  • Valid Security Guard Registration with California BSIS (Bureau of Security and Investigative Services) OR commitment to register as a Security Guard with California BSIS within 90 days of employment required.
