Position Overview

The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for the assembly, evaluation, and validation of intricate electro-optical systems. This role requires the technician to operate autonomously using: technical schematics, engineering modifications, material lists, operational guidelines, testing protocols, and production timelines. Additionally, the technician may be tasked with disassembling and repairing products in a designated repair environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all necessary electro-mechanical or opto-mechanical assembly, disassembly, or modification of production equipment or client-owned systems, adhering to technical schematics, diagrams, operational guidelines, and quality benchmarks.
  • Conduct acceptance inspections to ensure adherence to technical specifications and contractual obligations.
  • Perform assembly-level acceptance testing in line with sanctioned Acceptance Test Procedures or other engineering documentation.
  • Carry out basic diagnostics and fault isolation as needed.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on failure analysis and the implementation of corrective measures.
  • Repair client-owned products in a repair setting, utilizing failure reports, technical schematics, or repair manuals.
  • Ensure the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of one to three years of experience in the manufacturing of related complex electro-mechanical subassemblies, major assemblies, and systems.
  • Ability to work directly from technical schematics, diagrams, performance specifications, quality standards, and customer repair orders.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently with minimal written instructions and supervision.
  • Basic computer skills necessary for accessing Engineering and Configuration systems.
  • Proficiency in the use and operation of basic electrical testing equipment and mechanical measuring tools.
  • May be required to wear a company-provided respirator to perform certain job functions.
  • Must be able to work a 9-hour shift, which may involve kneeling and bending. The position requires sitting for extended periods and standing for up to an hour.
