Job Summary

Pacific Choice Brands is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research and Development Manager to lead our innovation efforts. This is a strategic and tactical role that requires a strong background in food science, project management, and commercialization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with supplier specifications, nominated line forms, and technical information to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Implement and manage raw materials and finished product sensory and lab testing programs to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Review lab data and update internal systems and customer specs as required to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide legal information for food labelling and specifications to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Sales functions to develop and implement new product ideas and technologies.
  • Lead customer technical projects and provide technical expertise and support to develop high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
  • Assume primary technical responsibility of customer interactions, drawing out issues with timely responses.
  • Combine insights on technical expertise, the external environment, and customer business with a deep understanding of Pacific Choice Brands to drive commercially astute business decisions.
Requirements
  • BS in food science, food engineering, microbiology, chemistry, or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in leading R&D teams, innovation projects, and commercialization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Regulatory (GLP and GMP) and technical writing skills.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Mastery of project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and in budget.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
